Scallop-Trim V-Neck Sweater - HORIZON-BLUE - XS - Talbots is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely sweater I love these sweaters. The above elbow sleeve length is flattering as is the neckline. I would have rated a five if all the tags had not been sewn in black thread which shows through. Why not use pink thread on pink tops, white thread on white etc. Then customers don’t have to try desperately to cut the tags out

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pros & Cons The front & back v neckline is quite flattering. Elbow length sleeves are a plus. The weight is great for spring weather. Wrinkles while sitting. Could be a little longer. I'm 5'6" & it hits higher than what is shown on the model. A waist band hem on the bottom of the sweater would make this sweater perfect. It appears to have no structure. Looks quite sloppy on my plus size frame.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as shown in catalogue Not only was the item very small for a Petite Medium but the sleeves were not elbow length. This may have been mislabeled for size? Very disappointed. I have found that a Petite Medium can vary in actual fit but this was extreme.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost great sweater I think the other reviews provide a lot of accurate insights. I liked this top so much that i just added several additional colors. I started with the peachy/orange color and just added light blue, orchid and mint. The knit is stretchy, very comfortable and the scalloped neckline makes it unique. The finished edge on the scalloped neck could be a little more polished, but it seems durable and is not noticeable unless people are way closer than they are going to get to you. The tag issue is a pet peeve - I agree with the other reviewer. The tag is not scratchy at all. But the stitching attaching it to the garment shows through on the outside. It’s minor - two tiny stitches - but on my light-colored tops, the thread used was black. On one of the tops, it’s barely noticeable, on the others it is more obvious. It’s just annoying that more attention couldn’t have been paid to quality control on the label stitching. However, all in all, this top is a winner! Five stars for vibrant colors, look and feel, but overall four stars due to the polishing touches that would have made this top perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neckline tag Disagree with first review. I found no issue with the neckline tag. This top fit beautifully and true to size with no irritation from the tag.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Necklineline tag I was all ready to purchase this lovely sweater but based on a review of the neckline tag as well as my past experience with irritating neckline tags which are difficult or impossible to remove, I will not be buying.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the style, not the fabric I love the style of this top, but would love it if it were in a crepe fabric for summer. Love the neckline, love the sleeve length, love the length of the top to cover the tummy. Please make a top like this in a light weight fabric for the summer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic neckline! Photographs well. The neckline is extremely flattering. The weight of the sweater is suitable for cooler temperatures, not late spring or summer. Works under a jacket. I found the sizing large, as is common with Talbots knit tops, and bought an XL petite. (I have a 44 inch bust, am 5'6" tall. This size fits, but is not skin tight. The misses XL was just too large and baggy-sleeved on me, and for my proportions, too long.

Questions

I am 2 plus. How do I know it will fit well? I never bought anything without trying it first. I wanted to buy a suit yesterday but the length of the skirts sopped me

Asked by: Natty
I usually wear a 2x but this sweater runs very small. I am going to try a 3x and see if that works.

Is the knit heavy enough that there is no transparency or show through? Particularly on the White and Pastels??

Asked by: Connie2249
In white and lighter colors, there could be slight transparency. We recommend wearing nude/flesh color undergarments to minimize this effect.

Is it machine washable?

Asked by: Sar1
It states “hand wash, shape and lay flat to dry”, however, my washer is a front loader so it has no agitator to pull and twist clothing items. I would definitely wash it in MY machine, turning them inside out first. I use the delicate or even wool cycle and cold water with a mild detergent, because of the slower spin on those cycles. I even wash my good cashmere sweaters this way without any harm. I have 16 of them and they all turn out just as nice as dry cleaning them. I do shape them and lay flat to air dry; never a dryer!  A lot of clothing says dry clean or hand wash, but I have found many items to be machine washable. Not suits or certain slacks or some dresses of course. You need to know too what fabrics or combinations of fabrics will shrink, lose its body structure, or fade.

Is the fabric breathable? I cannot wear fabric that doesn't breathe

Asked by: KristalPistol
While most viscose is highly breathable, the polyester content would prevent the garment from being completely breathable.
