Jacket Misfit
The size runs large. I was interested in this jacket as a winter coat. It would have been the right weight for a South Carolina winter. Unfortunately, it would be way too large, even with a blouse and sweater underneath it. I was equally disappointed with the color, it’s the same color/material that Talbots sold last year in a jacket. In fact, overall, Talbots seems stuck in a style rut.

Beautiful, well made. I wear a woman's size 18 and it fight perfectly. I have found that w/ other wool jackets I have bought @ Talbots I needed to go up one or two sizes, but this one was perfect.

Beautiful fabric but unflattering style
I ordered this online and loved the beautiful thistle color and the soft feel of the wool but the style was very boxy. I went back to the store and tried on several sizes smaller and regular as well as petite sizes. None were flattering. It is shorter than pictured and wide. Not a great look. Was sorry not to find a good size.

Beautiful Color, Disagreeable Buttons
Talbots wool jackets are a staple in my closet and I was excited to see this one in the recent catalog. In person, the jacket’s thistle color is beautiful and the medium weight of the soft wool will ward off the first chill of fall. Unfortunately, this is a jacket you have to wear closed to show off the scallops. The visible buttons when the coat is open take away from the quality of the piece. For an outdoor only affair it would be perfect. Fit is TTS and hem hits mid-hip (I’m 5’2”, 4P).
