Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tight in the arms This jacket was too tight in the arms for me. Other than that, it was a nice, well made jacket. I ordered it in a misses 8 in ivory.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from fits different than previous aberdeen jackets I purchased my size M 10 and also 1 size larger M 12 based upon comments of other reviewers. Fabric is very heavy ( nice for fall and early spring but not hot summer) I couldn't quite get the right fit (at the same time small, large and TTS?) and tho I am always willing to have alterations, the detail at the sleeve would have been ruined. Darker blue was pretty and the fabric is very textured.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not my favorite Aberdeen so far I was surprised at how 'heavy' and thick this fabric felt when I put on the jacket, because it seems like it's supposed to be for warmer temperatures. As with all Talbots clothing, it is beautifully constructed, although this iteration of the Aberdeen runs shorter on my body than I'd like. I have a few other Aberdeens that are longer than this one, which I prefer for me. I also was not excited by the color (ordered blue, which is so pale it's actually more like a washed chambray, did not love) and the pick-stitching, which, combined with the width of the lapel, just doesn't do anything for me, and I was hoping was less noticeable. But the fabric is beautiful, the buttons are really nicely done in faux bone, and even though it fits (except for the length), I'm sending it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Blazer EVER! I agree with the review that says that best blazer in 20 years. I am a long time shopper, and this jacket has it all. The right length, the right cut (not boxy, slightly fitted and very true to size) and most of all, the "old" Talbots quality in fabric and workmanship. Finally! I bought one today and you can be sure I will be back for more. Please keep this style, cut and quality for the Fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Jacket - Great Fit. If you are looking for a jacket that makes it easy to get dressed in the morning, this is it! I have purchased several of these in various colors. Each jacket is beautifully made and exceeds my expectations. Of all of the jackets that I have purchased at Talbot's, this is my favorite! Great colors. Great quality. I would say that this is true to size. I don't choose close to get compliments, but I have received many compliments when I wear this jacket. Very pleased with these purchases.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun spring blazer in lovely colors but are tight. I tried this on instore in 2P & it was just too boxy in body. The areas were snug but not too tight I couldn't wear a blouse under. I ordered the 0P & the body fit perfectly but the arms were too tight to wear even a blouse under it, I'm noticing this in other Talbots items. The arms are narrow. Don't know if other Talbots customers are noticing this w/ their purchases. Will you have items in a nice summer navy this year instead of the deep winter ink navy?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not rated 5 due to color of buttons I bought the black blazer and it's a medium weight for temps in the 50's to the low 70s, or colder if wearing an overcoat. It was nice to purchase a Talbots item I didn't have to get altered. I would have bought the red one too, except for the color of the buttons. The black, indigo blue and ivory are the only options with color-coordinated buttons and I concluded trying to find the right red buttons to substitute would be difficult. I noted the care instructions to have dry cleaned inside-out, which worked well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stiches are too wide The stiching on the collar is way too wide. It looks like it was stiched by hand. It doesn’t look professional. Furthermore the fabric under the collar is white which contrasts with the black color of the blazer. This makes it look cheap and tacky. Definitely not something I would expect from Talbots. This is definitely going to be returned.

Was a bit taken back by the washing instructions.   “Cover buttons with aluminum foil and dry clean inside out” ???  seems extreme and scared me away from the jacket.  Is it that fragile or is regular dry cleaning ok?

Asked by: Mkleeps
I have noticed this same instructions on others Talbots clothing, in particular, print sweaters that do not have woven yarn type pattern like the paisley cashmeres I bought this year. I’m not surprised as this is how I have started to wash in machine my machine washable items - inside out. Quite honestly it is because I’m tired of my prints fading so easily. It’s not just Talbots clothes. (Btw, I feel that sizing and over all quality of manufacturing features have gone way down since the majority of our clothing is no longer made in the USA. Time for us gals to let everyone know. I’m not 5’6 102 lb waif but a healthy, normal 10-12. Older clothing in my closet seems to be better in most respects). My organic dry cleaner didn’t bat an eyelash when I followed new instructions wrt aluminum foil covering buttons and inside out instructions. She thanked me for doing prior to bringing for cleaning and bringing the instructions to their attention.

What color lining does the black jacket have? Are the sleeves lined in stripe fabric by any chance?

Asked by: lynney
The lining is ivory-whitish as in the on-line photo which shows mostly rear view with the ivory-backed collar standing. I'm returning mine because I'd have to wear it the same as the photo shows (collar turned up) because the lining, esp. around the collar, shows.

I don't understand. The small pictures on the left of the big one....in particular, the light blue one.....it shows no collar on the back. However you know that there is a full fold down collar. Does this picture belong with this jacket?

Asked by: light blue jacket picture
Yes. The photo is revealing the appearance of the underside of the collar in Riveria Blue.

The description says the jacket is a Knit Blazer. Is it possible to give a more detailed description of the fabric. I just want to make sure that what I think of as a "knit" is the same as the description. Thank you.

Asked by: love knit jackets
I would call this cotton canvas or vaguely like sackcloth. Not as dressy as a ponte knit, perhaps.
