Aberdeen Knit Blazer - Piqu+ Knit - INDIGO-BLUE - 2 - Talbots is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 64.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit perfect for travel. I bought the black jacket in the store and then purchased the indigo blue jacket on line. They both pair well with dresses and are perfect for travel and meetings. I also wear them with jeans or casual pants on flights. The material is great for travel and still looks good after a longer flight. They also pack very well. I purchased both in petite 16, I am 5’ 2” and they fit true to size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful blazers, rich colors I have this blazer in ivory, cactus rose, pink and blue. They are all lovely! The colors of the first three are an evenly saturated tone. Really rich in tone - beautiful. The ivory is not yellowish, but is a beautiful off-white. The blue is slightly different from the others, in that it’s more like a powder blue and ivory weave. Hard to describe, but it is not the even saturation of the other three. It’s still nice, just be aware the color treatment is different. The fabric reminds me of the Ponte pants Talbots sold last winter. It’s a medium-weight knit fabric. Soft, without the stiffness of a wool or heavy cotton fabric. I was pleased with its durability. I carry my computer in a backpack and take it on and off several times a day, commuting and sometimes walking to meetings. I was concerned the constant friction on the fabric might cause pilling, but so far, so good. it is a three-season blazer, probably too warm for hot, summer days, but would still work for air-conditioned offices or cool summer evenings. The stitching around the collar gives the jacket a hand-made/custom-tailored look. The fit of it is tighter than my usual 10, so really hoping the jacket won’t shrink the first time I have it cleaned, as the fit is perfect but leaves no room for shrinkage. (This is the reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5.) The 12, though, was too large. As for length, the jacket is the shorter length that has been popular for a few years. I am tall (5’ 8”), so I don’t love that trend, but the blazer works, even for me. This jacket will look stunning dressed up with nice pants/skirts, or even just jeans. The colors really are lovely!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy and cute I was surprised to like these as I was suspicious about what a knit jacket would look like. I think it is the perfect solution for a less formal (but put together) look that is comfortable. It can easily replace the fleece I normally put on over jeans, and is also good for work. Love it! I am wearing my usual 6P, and the fit is the same as other items of its size from Talbots.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rose Quartz Yes; Black No I bought this jacket in Rose Quartz, and I love it. It fits well, and it’s a nice casual jacket. I sent it to the dry cleaners because it arrived somewhat wrinkled. It looks fine now. I liked it so much, I bought the same jacket in Black. Unfortunately I had to return it. Seams inside the collar and on the tops of the pockets were faded due to improper pressing by the manufacturer, rendering a new garment that looks old. I had to return a pair of black pants purchased from Talbots not long ago for the same reason. Very frustrating! Pastel colors might be a safer choice for this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great classic Lovely well made and tailored classic blazer. I bought the light blue and it is perfect for spring , summer wear. The material makes it so comfortable to wear as there is some stretch. Fit is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable with shortish sleeves This blazer is a nice upgrade from a sweater that still feels very comfortable. It's a little thicker than you might want for summer, though. I have to have 95% of my jackets' sleeves shortened (including ones I buy from Talbots), but the sleeves on this are a little shorter, which means I didn't need to. If you don't normally need your sleeves shortened, however, this might be a problem for you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returned it For the price, I expected a better fabric. This felt a little cheap. I also did not like the white fabric stitched onto the underside of the collar. Had I seen this online, I would not have ordered this item. Continuing my search for a versatile, comfortable, go anywhere in almost every season black blazer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits like a glove! I have several of these knit blazers. They are so versatile and comfortable. They span the seasons in Florida's climate. The fit is great. I did size up to 10P after reading reviews that the arms ran snug. I have these jackets in 8P and 10P. The fit is tailored and flattering. I am 5'3" and 132 lbs for reference. The pick stitching on lapels adds dressmaker details of an expensive jacket. I did find that one shoulder has a slight crease. I hope I can press out. The rose quartz is a very flattering shade of pink. I have the ombre tweed skirt and pink shell to go with it. I makes a stunning outfit. Can't wait to wear it.

Questions

I don't understand. The small pictures on the left of the big one....in particular, the light blue one.....it shows no collar on the back. However you know that there is a full fold down collar. Does this picture belong with this jacket?

Asked by: light blue jacket picture
The collar is turned up and you are seeing the underside of it. Each jacket is fully-lined in a color that matches the color of the jacket. The underside of the collars, though, is backed with a white lining (to help the collar maintain its shape), with a thin blue stripe on it. That is visible in the photo. The exception is the collar on the ivory blazer, which for some mysterious reason is backed with black, with a thin blue and white (single) stripe. The stripe does not show on any of them, including the ivory, unless you have the collar turned up. But on the ivory blazer, the black backing is quite a contrast and can be visible (though minimally) at the front tips of the collar - just as the white can be on the other jacket colors, too. But the white backing on the others is less obvious than the black on white. Why they didn’t stick with the white backing on the ivory blazer is odd.

Would my Iphone 5s fit in the flap pockets shown in the photo

Asked by: Chloe070
My iPhone 8, which is larger than the 5 (though it is not the oversized 8+) fits just fine in the pockets of the Aberdeen blazers. All good!

Has anyone tried to wash this jacket on cold delicate? Or to hand wash with woolite? I hate to have to dry clean all the time both from the toxic chemicals and the expense but I want the white blazer and I’m sure it will need frequent cleaning.

Asked by: sbowde
Talbots always recommends that you follow the care instructions on the garment which are determined by the manufacturer to extend the life of the garment.

Was a bit taken back by the washing instructions.   “Cover buttons with aluminum foil and dry clean inside out” ???  seems extreme and scared me away from the jacket.  Is it that fragile or is regular dry cleaning ok?

Asked by: Mkleeps
I have noticed this same instructions on others Talbots clothing, in particular, print sweaters that do not have woven yarn type pattern like the paisley cashmeres I bought this year. I’m not surprised as this is how I have started to wash in machine my machine washable items - inside out. Quite honestly it is because I’m tired of my prints fading so easily. It’s not just Talbots clothes. (Btw, I feel that sizing and over all quality of manufacturing features have gone way down since the majority of our clothing is no longer made in the USA. Time for us gals to let everyone know. I’m not 5’6 102 lb waif but a healthy, normal 10-12. Older clothing in my closet seems to be better in most respects). My organic dry cleaner didn’t bat an eyelash when I followed new instructions wrt aluminum foil covering buttons and inside out instructions. She thanked me for doing prior to bringing for cleaning and bringing the instructions to their attention.

What color lining does the black jacket have? Are the sleeves lined in stripe fabric by any chance?

Asked by: lynney
The lining is ivory-whitish as in the on-line photo which shows mostly rear view with the ivory-backed collar standing. I'm returning mine because I'd have to wear it the same as the photo shows (collar turned up) because the lining, esp. around the collar, shows.
