We had such a fabulous time in NYC, celebrating the launch of our new December collection. Here’s a peek at some of our favorite moments.

Behind the Brand:
Bringing Our Holiday Windows to Life
From concept inspiration to final design, so much goes into creating the visual magic in our storefront windows—especially at the holidays. Year in and year out, our visual merchandising team strives to spark joy and a sense of festive wonder for our shoppers.
We sat down with Natasha Orchard, a senior manager on the Talbots visual merchandising team, to discuss this year’s holiday window design process and how her team brought the “Ornament” concept to life across our 370+ storefronts.
Tell us about the process of how this year’s window design came to be.
It starts with brainstorming and concepting ideas with the team and then sorting through details like budget and keeping in mind that every store is different—from the number of windows to how big they are to how shoppers approach the store.

We also collaborate with the marketing team and brand design on how the various promos work visually with the props. Then it is on to designing the prototype and making sure the design is easy as possible for stores to install. It’s a hands-on process and we go through a lot of iterations and updates to get it just right.

Once we have the perfect prototype, we set up a replica display in our mock store here at headquarters and walk executives through the final set up. They see it exactly as it will be displayed in our storefronts. Then it’s full steam ahead working with our vendors to recreate the magic in store windows across the country.
What is your favorite part of the process?
I love seeing the concept come to life in its entirety—how the props, mannequins and marketing all come together to create magic.
How many ornaments did it take to bring this together?
I probably ordered around 1,500 ornaments to start the project. For 2 walls and 3 swags, it’s around 800 ornaments. And a lot of glue!
What is your favorite part about the holidays at Talbots?
My team and I decorate the Hingham office headquarters for the holidays. We transform the lobby and create moments throughout the building to bring holiday cheer. I love it!
