Oh-So-Chic Women’s Coats

Who said staying warm had to be boring? A great coat never goes out of style–and it’s an absolute necessity when temperatures drop. Our women’s coats make the perfect outfit toppers. Whether you like to finish off your ensembles with a classic wool peacoat or a playful puffer, you’ll find just the thing at Talbots. We offer styles in petite and plus sizes, as well. Take a peek and find the right coat for your closet.

Outerwear to Elevate Any Look

From perfectly neutral black and brown to eye-catching plaids and other patterns, our beautifully tailored women’s coats are crafted to bring a little bit of joy to every day and every look. Bring home a warm wool coat that looks just as lovely as it feels and goes with everything under the sun. Make a dressed-up look even more luxe with oh-so-soft faux fur. Or add just-right warmth to an outfit with our much-loved vests. And if you’re thinking of leaving the purse behind and traveling light, many of our women’s coats feature roomy pockets for your everyday essentials.

Mastering the Art of Layering

In addition to providing delicious warmth on even the chilliest days, our women’s coats are an excellent opportunity to level up your layering. On those cold-in-the-morning, comfortable-by-afternoon days, a front-zip jacket or button-front coat will let you adjust things to your comfort level while still showing off your outfit underneath. For colder weather, start with your base layer—a long-sleeve or turtleneck, perhaps—and build up to your outerwear with a sweater, cardi or blazer. Add your coat, and don’t forget the accessories! A soft beanie and fuzzy scarf add coziness and style points to any look.
